Welcome to the West End Port
This port overview is aimed at providing an explanation for commonly used abbreviations referring to the various areas referenced and under the remit of the West End Port.
Constructed in 2009, Heritage Wharf was a purpose-built addition, which allowed a second cruise ship to berth at the Royal Naval Dockyard.
Completed in the 1850s, King’s Wharf was built to create a protected basin in front of the Dockyard where ships could be repaired and other works could be carried out in relatively calm waters. The breakwater consists of a rubble mound made of Bermuda limestone quarried from the hill which originally stood where Dockyard is now. It has been significantly upgraded over the years to accomodate more and more modern ships, moving from convict hulks to British warships and submarines to yachts, tugs, cruise ships, cargo ships and more!
If you have set your sights on a cruise to Bermuda, there are multiple cruise lines servicing the island, most of which berth in the Royal Naval Dockyard at either King's Wharf or Heritage Wharf.
